Yeah i also thought the same. That was a mistake. Obama is already having trouble for not looking presidential, his wife absence will make it worse.
I’d say it’s rather unpatriotic.
She was at the Farakhan or Nation of Islam funeral.
It will definitely look badly on the news and Obama will have to answer as to why she wasn’t there for at least 3 weeks.
She should have been there no matter what. Some people who were undecided will now decide for whom to vote based upon that…and their decision might be McCain.

this is just reinforcing all the uncertainty about her patriotism. I know if i was there even if i was sick i would have come. unfortunately im still a year away from being able to vote but McCain would have my vote
The Demon-crats are so twisted,they are probably doing this to portray her as a "dedicated" stay at home mom that puts her kids first. Remember her lame speech at the DNC? She made herself look exactly like that.
No it re-affirms her position as a Stay at home mother. The Obama’s don’t feel the need to flaunt their children in front of the cameras. As for Cindy I am sure she didn’t want to be there either, but it is a chance for her to show off another 300,000 outfit.
I thought that it was more weird that Cindy McCain was there for that rose toss ceremony!
When Heads of States lay a wreath at a monument, a wife is rarely escourting him right up to the monument’s base. I think that the McCain’s do that wedding-cake arm-in-arm pose all the time. though. It comes so natural for them (in or out of white coat-and-tails & gowns) that they didn’t comprehend the grandstanding, society page way it appeared.
Besides, with Mrs. Palin being a sort of "popularity security blanket" for John McCain, Cindy perceived that he needed some psychological assurance,
Michelle Obama not attending the 9/11 memorial was poor taste for a future first lady. You would think the democrat party would have sorted out issues relating to Obama’s wife bizarre behaviour.
