Sending a letter is a great idea. Even if it doesn’t make it to them personally, it will be read by a white house staffer and you’ll probably get photographs and other memorabilia in return. If your letter is well written and noteworthy enough, it may even end up on the President’s desk for him to read. What do you gain by not sending it? Conversely, what do you lose by sending it and having them not read it? I think if the Obama’s have inspired you, then one of the lessons they would want you to learn is that you should always try – what can it hurt?

go with barack. the first lady has no power.

Give it a try. They really, really care about you. The send GOD a letter. The results should be the same.

    go for it!
they may not read it but its the thought that counts

Tell them what you want to see happen in your lifetime. You never know. If a ton of people ask for the same thing it could happen.

You can try sending a nice letter but they aren’t in office yet and it’ll take a little time for them to get their secretaries in place, it may be a while before you hear back from anyone.

  7. Drixnot says:

Send the letter to Michelle, Barack probably won’t have time to read it… but one to his wife might make it through.

I think they’d actually appreciate hearing that. It’s nice when younger people get involved in politics, or are at least informed. You could even address it to them both.

  9. Paul Kersey says:

It’s probably pointless. Don’t worry though, they already know what is best for you.

  10. Pastor Richard says:

If you did they would use it for their political advantage. They would exploit you and your letter to make themselves look good.
    It is obviously your decision.

If your dream is to become a crooked Chicago politician, and be elected to an office because of your skin color I am sure they can assist you.

My hope is that you aim a little higher in life.
