Obama’s speech was so well done. I hope young people out there are moved to join the foreign service based on what he’s said. It take a lot of steady and well-intentioned work all over the world to impress people with the kind of vision that the State Department has. Though often we keep American interests in mind, we always give when we can and we always listen to many viewpoints. Each administration varies in approach but the essence remains constant.
