Defense costs 54% of the taxes (not social security or medicare) that the government takes in, and we pay more for defense than the rest of the world spends combined.
Cut our defense spending and implement the 2% raise in the taxes for the rich. Doing this would give us enough budget surplus to pay entirely for the healthcare of every American, institute renewable energy initiatives, and STILL PAY OFF OUR NATIONAL DEBT.
