Well, he did try. I feel for this dude; he’s under pressure to handle everything perfectly and make everyone happy, which is impossible anyways, not unless money rains from the skies. At least he got this through, which is something. I’d hate to have to be in his shoes.

@MrTripplenipple and if he did stick to nothing but principle, he’ll just be like every other idealist on Capitol Hill. Ideals get nothing done; if we all stuck to ideals we’ll be stuck fighting ’till this side of eternity. What we need are people with no party affiliations, no ties to a particular set of doctrines, and the brains to get things done instead of haranguing over what that person believes in. More moderates, less of the left and right, push for a surge from the middle.

@qpae123 Question: When was the last time somebody launched mortars at your house, or detonated explosives in your church, school, subway, etc? When was the last time there was a riot that left your city in flames? My mother’s family is from Chechnya, where these are daily occurrences- along with beheadings, rape, IED’s, EFMP’s… I am proud to defend this piece of shit nation from turning into that. Sure, the average American would rather complain and blame than fix things, but it’s my home.

Same thing in Libya. Look at France, with the student and firefighter protests, the British with army protests.
