I believe that she is trying to tackle the problem of obesity in america. she mainly goes around talking to people about how people should eat healtier. other than that…. i dont see how she educates. not really much of any action taken.
First Lady Michelle Obama’s life in itself is a living example of what education can do for anyone who applies themselves properly.
Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama (born January 17, 1964) is the wife of the forty-fourth President of the United States, Barack Obama, and is the first First Lady of the United States of African-American heritage.
Michelle Robinson was born in and grew up on the South Side of Chicago. She graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School. After completing her formal education, she returned to Chicago and accepted a position with the law firm Sidley Austin, where she met her future husband. Subsequently, she worked as part of the staff of Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley, and for the University of Chicago Medical Center. Throughout 2007 and 2008, she helped campaign for her husband’s presidential bid and delivered a keynote address at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. She is the mother of two daughters, Malia and Sasha, and is the sister of Craig Robinson, men’s basketball coach at Oregon State University.
No.
Alyssa, I have a suggestion think about this she can raise a garden. I don’t know what she has done about education haven’t seen any post. But I tell you she does really try to stay out of the limelight, for good reasons, Her husband does misspeak a lot, and mabe she would have to give and opinion and would be baffled at all the Bombardment Right winged news agencies would do. I really don’t feel sorry for her only she is Smart in not opening up to the Public.
She educates people both implicitly and explicitly.
Implicitly, her underprivileged background and educational/career achievements arguably make her a role model for many populations (underprivileged people, minorities, girls, working mothers, etc..) And—ok, lame—magazines pick up on her fashion choices and toned arms and use her to inspire readers.
Explicitly, she’s involved with initiatives to improve health and quality of life. Examples: Childhood Obesity Initiative; Let’s Move Initiative; the White House organic garden; instructing the WH kitchen to cook organic food. She also tries to support military families and community service.
Some First Ladies have helped bolster their husbands’ policy initiatives by giving speeches, traveling, etc., and she is no exception; the fact that she has a law degree arguably makes her more of an authority on political matters than many other First Ladies. (Note: while she may be more active than Laura Bush was, she is less active than Hillary Clinton was. First Ladies try to be smart about how much they choose to be involved, being that they themselves were not elected to political office.)
