To the brainwashed naysayers: do your research and realize that yes we can afford it, other countries have been through this transition and are better off in the long term, and that we are not a purely privatized nation (yet anyway). Many factions of our society such as police and fire departments are tax payer funded and likewise do not constitute socialism.Get beyond your selfish short sighted immaturity and realize that well all share stake in the general welfare of our people.

YES! YES WE CAN! Everyone has a right to affordable insurance. Our daughter is 20 and was dropped off our insurance over a year ago, then when we filled out the forms to have her added back onto our insurance the insurance company said they never received the paperwork. How interesting….

The government has NO RIGHT to tell me I need to buy health-insurance, and for those who will make the irrelevant comparison to car insurance the govt. does not force you to own or lease a car….
@MQUC1888 A summit? When? Fancy Nancy Pelosi held several closed door meetings about this bill without republicans. The bill was passed immediately after reaching Obama’s desk. Not to mention, the majority of Americans opposed, and still oppose this bill. “We need to pass this bill, so that you can see what’s in it”…. it was never debated…

I was originally for TRUE universal health-care but Obama’s plan is nothing more than a huge gift to the health insurance industry.
@MagellansUnderwear If I had to choose between big government and big corporation, I would choose big corporation because at least I know I will have a job, money, a chance to be well off, etc. Nothing wrong with corps, even individuals can apply to become a C or an S type corp. Corporations provide jobs and employment! Marxism (if you know anything about it) uses class warfare against the populous as a tactic to raise taxes on the populous! Public education is crap… I read.

One day you WILL get sick or be dying and in need of medical help. So, you think you can afford a $300-doctor visit? If you can’t afford it, by the time you need medical help, who pays for your medical bills? Your parents I assume? Yeah right… It’s the tax payers that will pay the HUGE medical bills of those who don’t care about their health. STUPID!

But telling the guy who has no job he will pay a fine of $1000.00 because he was uninsured and have to hire an army of IRS people to find them, fine them all. I love when he says ‘Yes this is Barack Obama,’ instead of this is President Obama. This guy, as intelligent as he is, and the position that he holds.. still remains human.
