Sounds about right to me. Were you really expecting anything less but contempt from liberals, towards their perceived political adversaries?

He had just gotten off the phone with Ron Paul when he made that decision.

  3. Angel's Memory says:

They had sent it all to communist countries.

  4. yutsnark says:

Actually, that makes no sense at all. If the motive were political, they’d want to give aid
to the swing states and the red states — not states like Massachusetts, which will vote Democratic regardless.

  5. Phoenix says:

Federal aid is only for Obama supporters now!

    Never happened.

    Yes….f**k Texas.

He’s playing favorites. He’ll only hand out aid to states that will make a difference in the next election.

No, because that never happened. The only thing that Perry was whining about was an emergency declaration for his firefighting.

However, the state has been already been allocated 16 fire management assistance grants that provide financial support for the specific purpose of fighting fires. Texas has been approved to receive six more grants of this kind to aid state and local governments with firefighting efforts that include equipment, field camps, mobilizing and demobilizing activities. The most recent fire management grant was approved two days before Perry started whining.

Perry the maverick was double dipping.

Conservatives hate federal assistance, unless it goes to them.

    Never happened.

    No, quit lying.

Gov. Rick Perry today urged the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide Texans more assistance in recovering from catastrophic losses and damages from three months of wildfires that have affected about 85 percent of Texas counties.
Since Jan. 1, 2008, more than 5,300 wildfires have burned nearly 940,000 acres and destroyed 140 homes in Texas. Some 216 of Texas’ 254 counties have suffered damage from the wildfires.

Wasn’t some guy from TX president in 2008?

I would think Republicans would cheer this move. After all, aren’t they trying to cut government spending?

  15. Taino Johnnie says:

So Rick Perry rejects federal aid and this is Obama’s fault? Really?

In 2009, a swaggering Gov Perry publicly attacked government ‘stimulus’ money as "irresponsible spending," and then quietly took it to balance his budget… the hypocrite

why should the Obama Admin feed the hand that bites them?

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry likes to tell Washington to stop meddling in state affairs. He vocally opposed the Obama administration’s 2009 stimulus program to spur the economy and assist cash-strapped states.

Perry also likes to trumpet that his state balanced its budget in 2009, while keeping billions in its rainy day fund.

But he couldn’t have done that without a lot of help from … guess where? Washington.

Turns out Texas was the state that depended the most on those very stimulus funds to plug nearly 97% of its shortfall for fiscal 2010, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

"Stimulus was very helpful in getting them through the last few years," said Brian Sigritz, director of state fiscal studies for the National Association of State Budget Officers, said of Texas.

Even as Perry requested the Recovery Act money, he railed against it. On the very same day he asked for the funds, he set up a petition titled "No Government Bailouts."

"Join our fight and add your voice to a growing list of several thousand Americans who are fed up with this irresponsible spending that threatens our future," Perry wrote on his blog on Feb. 18, 2009.

" Exposing Liberal Lies". And then you advocate a Conservative/Fox lie. What part of hypocrisy don’t you understand?
