What do you think of the hug given by Michelle Obama to Her Majesty, Queen of England ?
Is not Michelle Obama taking the same attitudes as ordinary people play on talk shows on cheap television ? They kiss to say hello between them and they don`t know each other. They don`t know each other but they embrace to each other and they act out of any cannon. Is she having the same attitudes simple people play on talk shows and ordinary tv programs when she visits the Queen and other personalities ?

Well, that would be Queen of the UK, but anyway…
It’s quite sweet, and is being portrayed everywhere as a nice gesture. It’s slightly at odds with traditional protocol, but there are no hard and fast rules about this. Different societies have different ways of conducting personal interaction, and in an interlinked world we should learn to accept these.
Michelle Obama, along with her husband, has very much charmed people in the UK, and the personal but unobtrusive hug has gone down very well. There’s no suggestion that this was an overly touchy-feely attitude between strangers but a genuinely warm gesture.
There was a bit of fuss a few years ago when Australian PM Paul Keating did similar, but the difference in reaction highlights the positive perception of the present US First Lady as compared to a politician nicknamed the ‘Lizard of Oz’!
Our "first family" is acting like children in a big people world, and according to my friends in the UK, the Queen had to put on a very happy face and accept the inappropriate behavior of Michelle simply because she could not afford to look racist.
It’s pretty sad that that should be necessary, or even a consideration.
The hug didn’t bother me. What bothers me is that a human being is so haughty that she believes she shouldn’t be touched.
Classless, but nothing next to Obama committing us for trillions under G20 and putting our economy under IMF rules, etc.

Actually Mrs.Obama had just met Prince Phillip and was commiserating the Queen
All education in the world can’t substitute class. Affirmative action education does not teach class. Michelle thins that hugging the Queen of England is the same as hugging Oprah (Queen of TV). It is not the same.
