  2. dijhili says:

@eelzen your a silly child. ALL conservatives know very well people bought home they could not afford. Duh! Dodd and Frank did nothing to reform Fannie and Freddie, in fact they denied there was even a problem. I blame Fannie and Freddie, but I blame Obama for trying to pass reform BASED off the housing crash that DOES NOT address the housing crash!

    I don’t watch Fox BTW.

Anyone notice he isn’t quite the speaker here that he was on the campaign trail? Granted, he doesn’t have a teleprompter, but presidents in the past didn’t either.

He’s also graying… you can draw your own conclusions – I’m just stating an observation. Take it for what it is.

@dijhili 30 Blaming the failure of the deregulated ownership society on Frank and Dodd is a Fox News talking point. Besides them and the GOP, not anyone is making that errr silly childish claim.

  6. dijhili says:

@eelzen they are the ones with the oversight committee!
It’s not just a FOX talking point. LA times, NY times…..just for a few. Ultimately it was the people that choose to purchase the homes, but with THIS committee oversight we should have known problems would have occurred.
On thing Bush did well was at least ask 17 times for a review of Fannie and Freddie, but both the REPUB’s and DEM’s denied.

  7. eelzen says:

@dijhili People, dems and repubs, make mistakes and screw up. I agree.
But you have made me think. So Bush had the power to start two wars without Congress declaring war but could not get a review of Fannie and Freddie? Not sure I buy that.

this is just more crap from Goo Ball Barry.
“reform” without auditing the fed is like putting a bandaid on a broken leg
why worry about a nickel when trillions are “missing?”

  9. davidperi says:

This bill is really watered-down…and people like Goldman-Sachs, and the other Wall Streeter, will continue to do business as usually because it was Obama´s former Wall Streeters who help design this bill.

  10. Lutchenka1 says:

The best economy is one which conforms to all countries without any need to impose rules!!!

  11. dijhili says:

@eelzen yes, he can do that.

Bush tried 17 times to fix the problem and limit Fannie & Freddie. The Dems and Reps blocked their efforts time and time again…led by Schumer, Dodd, Franks and the Black Congressional Caucus.

    You can google search it.
Bush did plenty wrong….we all know that, but we are now on Obama. This is one thing Bush did right.

Our government has an abysmal record safeguarding the non-elites of our society. One might even deduce that our government is run by a group behind the scenes for the purpose of enriching themselves. The sad truth is that there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats, they only compete to see who has a bigger space at the pig trough. The illusion of choice has fooled Americans for generations. Time to wake up people. Before it is too late.

@MsTommyknocker Absolutely!! Even some repubs are admitting that if Obama had been in office, the economic collapse would have never happened!!!! From reading in independent sources, President Obama essentually put back into place the same basic controls that Bush administration had removed!!!! All repubs seem to want to do is deregulate everything!! I will never again vote for a republican, whether local, or national!!!!
