    Micheal K. I like your answer,lol.
I am currently in the U.S. Army serving as a Mortuary Affairs Soldier. I seen plenty of death due to this senseless war. God-bless these Soldiers who gave their life’s. They are in my prayers. This war has went on long enough. The economy has suffered enough. I hope that Obama will full-fill the promises he made to us. I know it will take time. It really pisses me off to hear ignorant comments towards our “New” president. Give him a chance. Most of these comments are made by people who have never stepped foot into a war-zone (ex. Iraq/ Afghanistan) He has a lot on his plate, because of somebody.
If you can only hear the screams and witness remains, after remains, after remains. Your whole perception on life and what it really means would change significantly. Family, friends, happiness, and being thankful are the feelings I felt when I seen his inauguration. America has alot to be thankful for com-paired to alot of these other countries…..

i didnt watch the inauguration, but im sure obama will make more changes than bush ever made. bush sent troops to iraq just to get killed and he didnt do anything about the economy. its like he didnt care about it. and for those of you who thinks obama isnt worth anything, you better bet your butts he lowered gas prices. im actually pretty excited as to having obama as the first black president. he has promised to many things and im sure he will keep those promises.

  3. Even tho i did not vote for obama.
    i did watch the inauguration.
the reason i watched it and its important to me because its a part of history the first african american president EVER is huge and its good to know that your a part of that special event.
so the inuguration is important to me because it is a part of history and we need to be a part of it too:)

I don’t think so much of Obama as the first black president so much as the first multi-ethnic president. He represents people of so many ethnicities and cultures both in body and in spirit. He is an excellent role model and inspiration to those that need it most. He is a charismatic leader- leading by example. He seems to hold himself and those he associates with to high moral standards. Hopefully that adds up to an outstanding president. It is time for the world to look up the USA again.

My school made everyone go to the auditorium and watch the inauguration. They made the periods 20-30 minutes. A lot of people were being loud and disrespectful, but I tried to listen as much as I could. The inauguration was important to me because, as I watched, I realized that this man, Obama, was our first black President. He was going to rebuild America into what it once was, and make changes to better the citizens of the U.S.A. It was also important because I realized that I was part of and alive during this event, which is considered one of the most historic moments. I really liked Obama’s speech and I am anticipating how he will carry out his presidency.

  6. Minna H says:

from the begining i wasn’t a supporter of obama.
i believe he has won everyone over with his powerful speech ability, which, i won’t lie is very uplifting and compeling, but he seems to make too many promises that i do not believe he can keep.
but he is now the president of the united states, and though i would feel safer with a president with more political experience under his belt, i support obama because he needs it right now and America needs to come together so we can get out of the hole we have dug our selves.

To Biancabee: you can NOT be that dumb. It’s a damn ball. Not ball, but balls! Presidents have these, and everyone knows this. To think that attending presidential functions has something to do with how they’ll handle their presidency shows a true lack of common sense and intelligence on your part.
To Delicious: You write so much, but say so little. Is he any dumber than that d-bag that you probably voted for not once, but TWICE? The same d-bag that got us into this mess in the first place? “He’s dumb…” Pot and kettle, fool. Pot and kettle. You can gladly move out of the country if you’d like.
Anybody who truly gives a **** about this nation can see how Obama, even before and after his election, has gone out of his way to talk to this person and talk to that person to come up with ways to better the economy and foreign relations. That’s some stuff that we haven’t seen at all in the past eight years. I don’t give two lovely cares of he can’t accomplish everything he promises; what president has EVER accomplished everything they promised? By his conversations with people overseas, as well as their willingness to meet with him, that’s the type of president that I want to run my country. I don’t want some hate-monger blowing up random countries, and getting his own people into situations that we don’t need to be in. It’s S**T!
As for the economy, anyone who thinks that we can get the nation back on its feet without more spending is truly a dumb piece of crap. We can’t just sit back and be, like, “We’ll just wait here, and tax, tax and tax some more…even though our constituents are running out of money, and the money that they’re giving to banks and retailers aren’t helping since they’re running broke also.” It’s a domino effect, and a stash of money is going…to…be…needed to block that last domino from falling off of the table! Come on!
Obama has picked all of the right people. He’s been having these talks long before his inauguration to ensure that we hit the ground running, and I find it entirely immature and retarded how m*****f***ers can sit here and place any kind of blame when nothing has been put into effect yet! Bitterness breeds all over this website, and it’s sickening. Give the man a chance! Everything he’s done between Election Day and today have made me even more confident that I indeed hit the right button at the voting book. I followed him and what he’s done, just like every other intelligent person out there has. This is why his inauguration was important to me.

It’s important to me. now i know he is like other traditional politician. he closed gitmo and those were released becomes leader of al-quaeda in other country. what a traditional politician move. reverse the bush policy regarding abortion which he said he;s not going to do. what a hypocrite

  9. looklike says:

It’s an honor to have the first African American President… My director insisted on all of us watching the inauguration at work and it was wonderful. Never in my 50 years of life have I been this excited about a president until now. My co-worker also had a baby girl on Inauguration day. The baby will have a very special birthday.

  10. bootlegt says:

For everyone that has been derogatory in their comments about the President, past OR present, should feel very ashamed.
They have a job like no one has, they are in control and make daily decisions that continue to affect an entire country. Regardless of whether you agree with their decisions or not, you should all still respect these people. This is a commitment that deserves our support. They are representing us. EVERY President– past, present, or future– is voted in by a majority of the country, so respect not only them, but your fellow Americans by keeping your ignorant and degrading comments to yourself.
Having and opinion and expressing it is great, but demeaning someone else is ridiculous and truly low.

  11. Shelly M says:

    Changes for good are coming
And all of you rednecks who is against changes for good to be made
sit in your trailers somewhere in Nebraska or dump places where you live and listen what people are saying
Obama will change the USA for good
Rednecks eat your beefjerky and watch some Country music on a TV
Let the real people lead the country

  12. Michael K says:

this inauguration is important to me because it is the first one i have seen and i think this year people had to make the right decision. i am SO glad obama is the president because he will bring the change.

  13. Ninapopl says:

I’m not completely into the political world, but Obama‘s inauguration means that it’s a new chapter for the United States, for better or for worse. I’m excited to see change.

  14. Cassidy says:

his inauguration is important to everybody; i think
he’s really going to get us over the war & economic crisis that we’re in.
it’s a story i can tell to my children and grandchildren.

  15. I Am Kayla:) says:

WELL, its important because i get to have a period off in school just to watch him bring inaugurated. wat a relief. cuz if it wasnt for him, we’d have a big test.
THANKS OBAMA!!!! already creating some good changes!

  16. Lil Jay Chou says:

It was/is not that important to me. I was a McCain supporter. Not because of skin color, or race, but because of what they stand for. Now, weather or he does good, is up to him. I hope he will though.

  17. Been there. Almost Done that. says:

ANYONE is better than Bush so change is always welcome. Obama has made many promises to end wars, cut taxes, etc, and I hope he tends to do at least some of them.

  18. N.P.G Starlett says:

I was a mccain supporter also..and like others said it was not for race..just what he supported. But since obama won i will support him and hope for the best!

  19. The U.S. will never be the same. Our children will just see the a different version of the world (United). The transition from this poor economy will be hard, but we should all work together. We should all be patient!

  20. candyswe says:

I enjoyed experiencing history being made.

  21. Llama says:

i think that finally that bush is out that a change can come to america

  22. cool_guy says:

    Mr.Barak H Obama is a great man.Yes WE Can!

  23. JulZ says:

It was not important to me at all. I was disgusted by how much money was spent on the thing. Obama fund-raised 27 million for a PARTY!!!!!! What a waste!!! He hasn’t done a thing yet and already celebrating. That money could have been used toward something useful. Not too worried about spending & the economy now, huh? What poor leadership qualities from the start!

  24. biancabe says:

Its not important to me. People are making such a big deal about it beceause he’s black. I mean i’m not a racist but people are way overreacting. Obama only won beceause he had like %99 percent of the black vote. I bet if McCain was black he would’ve won.
And it pisses me off that black people hated bush. Bush was a good president and he did what he thought the right thing to do was. It wasn’t his fault.

  25. Homefly1 says:

to me it means we spent another $120 million on a freggin inauguration of a man who lies just as much as any other idiotic politician out there.

  26. Ashlee :) says:

I couldn’t stand it. I really don’t like him. Can’t wait till 4 more years to get a new president. This guy is dumb and will get kicked out of office hahaha..

  27. deliciou says:

it isnt important, it isn’t even made up 100%-ly by him and hes just forced to speak it to be a prez.

  28. ŘĄŃÐØM°™ says:

not important to me. so far he has closed gitmo. well done, dumb a**. now what to do with the terrorists??
